We’re often asked exactly why Conscientious Objectors disagreed with the war - and how many men had specific objections. This, along with the some of the hundreds of other questions we’re asked each week about the CO story got me thinking about a new series of articles on the numbers behind Conscientious Objection.

A little bit of analysis can go a long way, so starting with the Motivations of 2,000 London COs this series will lift the lid on some of the who, what, when, where and (most importantly) why questions of Conscientious Objectors in the First World War.
