International Conscientious Objector Day May 15

International Conscientious Objectors Day is marked around the world each year on 15 May.

In London each year a brief ceremony is held at the Commemorative Stone, during which the names are read of a representative person who 'maintained the right to refuse to kill' – in the words on the Stone - for as many countries as can be found.

A white flower was laid on the Stone for each of the 50 people remembered and whose names were read out.
