GANDHI STATUE Tavistock Square, London WC1.
From the time when the local Council donated a central site for a statue of Gandhi in Tavistock Square and its unveiling in 1968 by Prime Minister Harold Wilson who faced a sit down protest at Britains's tacit support for the Vietnam war, the square has accumulated a number of peace memorials and has become a place for peace events.
