Peace Vigil before Armed Forces Day - Falmouth

With the National Event for Armed Forces Day taking place on Saturday 24 June, local groups will challenge militarism with a peace vigil and other events the day before - as well as action on the day itself.
With the National Event for this year's Armed Forces Day taking place in Falmouth, children will be presented with a sanitised image of war as we're told to celeberate militarism. The Peace Pledge Union is supporting local groups in Falmouth who are uphoding different values, challenging everyday militarism and celebrating peace.

Local groups including Cornwall Quakers and Cornwall Resists are organising a series of events in the week leading up to Armed Forces Day as well as on the day itself.

On Friday 23 June, the eve of Armed Forces Day, the plans are as follows;

10.30 -11.00: Peace Vigil on The Moor

Peace Stall (venue near the Cornish Bank opposite King Charles the Martyr Church)

Peace Hub throughout the day will be the Cornish Bank
