Veterans for Peace ceremony - Margate - In person

Veterans for Peace will be in Margate for the closing ceremony of Michael Rakowitz's statue, 'April is the Cruellest Month'.

Veteran Daniel Taylor, who the statue is based on, and the sculptor Michael Rakowitz will be present. Everyone is very welcome to attend

This event represents the main contribution from VFP London around Remembrance Day. A good turnout will be impressive and moving.

Michael Rakowitz has just confirmed the following details for the ceremony.

14:00 —15:00 Closing Ceremony
Speech and wreath laying at the sculpture (last post if possible).

15.30 – 17.00 Reception
Held at the Turner Contemporary Margate Gallery

17.00 Gallery closes

Both Daniel Taylor and Michael will be present. Everyone is very welcome to attend

If you are travelling from London, please feel free to join Veterans For Peace on the following trains.

Outward: Depart St Pancras 11.12 Arrive Margate 12.38

Return: Depart Margate 16.55 Arrive St Pancras 18.21
Return: Depart Margate 17.55 Arrive St Pancras 19.21

Train travel will be refunded for Veterans for Peace members and there is no charge for the reception.
