Remembrance events around the UK
Every year, remembrance ceremonies and other events featuring white poppies take place across the UK, thanks to the hard work of white poppy wearers and PPU members. This includes ceremonies, stalls, demonstrations and vigils. In some places there are alternative ceremonies, focusing on the message of the white poppy. In others, white poppies are included in official ceremonies alongside red poppies.
In the run up to Remembrance Day, we publicise all white poppy events we know of on our events page.
If you are planning an event involving white poppies, we would love to hear from you. Please email the time, date, location and any other details to mail@ppu.org.uk.
National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony
The National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony takes place every year on Remembrance Sunday in Tavistock Square, London. Following speeches, those attending observe two minutes' silence and white poppy wreaths are laid on the Conscientious Objectors' Commemorative Stone, in memory of all victims of war, past and present.
You can watch speeches and extracts of previous ceremonies on the PPU's YouTube channel.
Details of the National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony are published on the PPU's events page in the run up to Remembrance Sunday each year.
