As the DSEI arms fair opens in London, we will hold a memorial ceremony for victims of war and the arms trade. As arms dealers queue up to enter, we will stand and read out a selection of names of war victims from around the world before laying a wreath of white poppies.
All are welcome at this short and sombre occasion that will highlight the reality of arms fairs such as DSEI, which will see representatives of some of the world's governments and armed forces meet with arms dealers in London.
The event will take place at the West Gate to the Excel Centre (where DSEI takes place), near the pedestrian entrance, so that attenders at DSEI cannot miss us.
The Peace Pledge Union is one of several groups that make up the Stop the Arms Fair coalition, whose members are organising a wide range of actions to resist DSEI between 4th and 15th September.
