National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony - London

Join us in Tavistock Square, London, to remember all victims of war, both civilian and military, past and present, and commit to working for peace.

The National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony takes place every year in front of the memorial stone for conscientious objectors in Tavistock Square in Bloomsbury. We will observe two minutes' silence and white poppy wreaths will be laid on the memorial in memory of all victims of war.

With contributions from:

- Nadine Aranki - Palestinian researcher and co-curator of the touring exhibition, The Many Lives of Gaza.

- Marwan Darweish - British Palestinian scholar and activist, Associate Professor in peace Studies at Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University.

- Roger McKenzie - CND Vice-President, long time trade union and anti-racist campaigner, international editor of the Morning Star newspaper.

- Jon Nott - from Campaign Against Arms Trade, former Vice-Chair of CND, previously served as General Secretary for Woodcraft Folk and Chief Executive of the Green Party

- Hosted by PPU member Kate Smurthwaite - feminist activist, comedian and star of the News at Kate video series.
