The Mistake, performed by Michael Mears and Riko Nakazono and directed by Rosamunde Hutt, returns to London following its international tour, including performances in Japan and Hiroshima.
This award-winning and widely praised play explores the events leading up to the first atomic bomb and its devastating consequences for the citizens of Hiroshima. It has now been performed over 100 times across the UK, the USA (including a three-week run off-Broadway in New York earlier this year), and Japan.
Audience responses - Mitchie Takeuchi, film producer of The Vow From Hiroshima, described the play as “deeply engaging… powerful and meaningful.” A Japanese audience member at the Greenbelt Festival reflected: “It was so moving to see 400 British people sitting down to watch this story about Hiroshima.”
