Join a commemoration for International Conscientious Objectors' Day in the Peace Garden, Lincoln Square, Manchester, on 15 May at 12 noon.
Each year on 15 May, Conscientious Objectors Day is marked around the world to remember those who have refused to take part in war, both past and present. Many continue to face imprisonment or exile for their stance, and the day offers an opportunity to stand in solidarity and recognise their courage.
This gathering in Manchester will form part of international peace mobilisations, with readings, poems, speeches and shared reflections. Those attending are welcome to bring a short reading if they wish to contribute.
