Everyday militarism looks likely to be even more visible in the UK over the coming months: Armed Forces Day takes place on 26 June, followed by the Three Counties arms fair in Malvern on 7-8 July, the DSEI arms fair in London in September and the DPRTE arms fair in Farnborough in October. Meanwhile, we expect armed forces recruitment stands to be more visible on the streets again as Covid restrictions ease. Military spending is on the rise, military visits to schools continue throughout the UK and the proposed Police Bill threatens to stifle our freedom to protest against all this.
But wherever there is militarism, there will be resistance!
We invite PPU members and allies to join us for the third in a series of events aimed at equipping ourselves and each other with skills and ideas for challenging everyday militarism and campaigning for change. Our aim is that this event will be helpful and relevant to you whether or not you attended either of the first two events in March and April.
The event is free to attend.
