International Conscientious Objectors' Day
Thursday 15 May 2025Every year on May 15th we remember conscientious objectors, both past and present. Around the world many people are imprisoned or forced to flee their home countries for refusing to join the armed forces. On May 15th we stand in solidarity with them, as well as celebrating the memory of those throughout history who have resisted conscription.
National Ceremony - International Conscientious Objectors' Day - London
Thursday 15 May 2025 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmThis annual event in Tavistock Square features speeches and music in front of the conscientious objectors' memorial stone, followed by a reading of COs' names from across history. Flowers are laid on the memorial stone, followed by a minute's silence.
