The PPU Winter Appeal 2025

The PPU Winter Appeal 2025

Help us build a culture of peace - in 2026 and beyond!

The world needs a culture of peace. At a time of record civilian conflict deaths, global instability, climate breakdown, and AI-driven warfare, we desperately need nonviolent solutions to humanity's problems.

Unfortunately, the UK government is driving us in the opposite direction - boosting military spending, supplying weapons to murderous regimes, and increasing cadet forces in schools.

We are committed to pushing back. As a leading voice for pacifism and nonviolence in the UK, we are determined to resist this growing militarism and to promote peaceful alternatives in schools, communities, and the media.

We have ambitious plans for the coming years - but we need your help. We rely on individual donations to support and expand our work for peace.

Here's a selection of what we've achieved together over the last year -

  • Stepped up our peace education programme, engaging with young people and teachers at Woodcraft Folk's centenary camp, the NEU conference, and in the run up to Remembrance Day.
  • Record levels of resistance to Armed Forces Day, with more protests happening around the UK than ever before, leading to progress in York, where the council removed military vehicles from the parade.
  • Shone a spotlight on civilian deaths in war on Remembrance Day at the largest National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony so far, with powerful contributions by Sir Mark Rylance and Every Casualty Counts.
  • Given a platform to Russian and Ukrainian conscientious objectors at two unique online events, giving people in the UK a chance to hear their stories and offer solidarity.
  • Supported our members to advocate for pacifism with new online resources, regular events, and political discussions at our AGM.

We've been incredibly busy in 2025 - but there's much more we want to achieve!

This includes a new event series on pacifism, developing our collaborative projects in peace education, a revamped media strategy, and expanding the scope of the white poppy campaign. We also want to grow our outreach work, build our networks and resilience, and provide people with further tools to consider peace and nonviolence more deeply.

Please give generously to help make this work possible. We have set an ambitious target of £10,000 for our Winter Appeal. Together, we can build culture of peace in 2026 and beyond.
