Armed Forces Day is about fuelling support for war and everyday militarism. It has little or nothing to do with providing help for veterans, who need a decent welfare state, not a celebration of militarism.
Thankfully, Armed Forces Day will not go unchallenged. The Peace Pledge Union is working with other anti-militarist groups to support local protests and other events.
We will have more information available closer to the time.
If you are organising a protest, vigil or other event in your area or online, or would like help to do so, or have ideas or suggestions for challenging Armed Forces Day, please contact the PPU at mail@ppu.org.uk or on 020 7424 9444.
