PPU members and allies will be joining protests and vigils, and handing out flyers, around the UK as Armed Forces Day events take place.
We will challenge the messages behind the parades and "armed forces fun days" and the way that children are given a glamourised image of armed force. And we will celebrate better values than violence and obedience!
If you live in Cornwall, or want to travel there, you can join local people who are challenging the National Event for Armed Forces Day, which is this year taking place in Falmouth.
If you want to resist Armed Forces Day elswhere in the UK, you can join a protest, hand out postcards, take action online or organise your own event. You can find out more at https://www.ppu.org.uk/militarism/war-not-family-entertainment-lets-resist-armed-forces-day#overlay-context=everyday-militarism
If you would like to hand out postcards in your area - or would like advice or support in organising a protest, vigil or other event - please get in touch. You can reach us at mail@ppu.org.uk or on 020 7424 9444.
